Pot odds describe the price of a call relative to the pot available after calling. If a pot is MYR 80 and an opponent bets MYR 20, calling costs MYR 20 to contest a final pot of MYR 120, assuming no further action. The cost is one-sixth of that final amount.
A simple pot-odds comparison does not include future bets, opponent ranges, position, implied odds or the chance of improving. The calculation is a framework, not a guarantee that a call is profitable. Different poker variants also change the relevant assumptions.
If using poker calculations, state the assumptions and avoid making a decision from one percentage alone. Cash games and tournaments have different structures and risk. Do not use a short winning run to justify stakes beyond a pre-set budget.
