A guide to common corner-count markets and why counting period and settlement rules matter.
Corner markets may ask for the total corners, a team’s corners, which team takes more, or a handicap-adjusted difference. Over/under lines can apply to the full match or one half. The market label should state whether only awarded corners count or whether another definition is used.
A corner may be awarded but not yet taken when a match is stopped. Different rulebooks can define how late or abandoned events are settled. A display total during a live match can also update after review, so do not treat a momentary number as final.
Tactics, scoreline and pressure can influence corner volume, but a team’s average is not a promise for the next fixture. Compare the same period and handicap, and read the settlement rules before relying on a statistic.
