Read the scoring method
A card market may count bookings, points or another operator-defined measure. Some rules assign a different value to a red card or exclude cards to non-players. The phrase total cards is not enough to know how a specific event is counted.
Referee statistics need context
A referee’s historical average can be affected by league, teams, match stakes and sample size. It should not be read as a stable personal setting. A team’s style or a rivalry headline does not prove that a card will occur.
Verify the period and exceptions
Check whether the market covers regulation time, extra time or a particular half. Read rules for cards after the final whistle, substitutes and abandoned games. Keeping these definitions visible is more useful than relying on an unexplained average.
