Recognize loss chasing and use a clear pause plan instead of increasing stakes to try to recover money.
Recognize loss chasing and use a clear pause plan instead of increasing stakes to try to recover money.
Chasing is continuing or raising stakes mainly to win back money already lost. It can also mean switching games, extending a session or making rushed live decisions because the current balance feels unacceptable.
A previous loss does not improve the next result’s chance. A larger stake increases the amount at risk and can deepen the loss. Feeling that recovery is close is an emotion, not evidence about a game or event.
Stop the session, step away from the screen and do not deposit more while upset. Tell someone you trust what is happening. If stopping feels difficult, use blocking or self-exclusion tools where available and contact a qualified local support service.
