Guide overview
What baccarat roadmaps display, why their patterns can be misleading and how to keep descriptive history separate from prediction.
A visual record
Roadmaps such as the Big Road and derived charts encode previous Banker, Player and Tie results using different symbols or columns. They can help a player scan the history of a shoe, but they are not part of the card-drawing rules.
Patterns happen by chance
Runs and alternations can appear in random sequences. A streak on a chart does not prove that the same side is more likely on the next hand. A chart can make a pattern look persuasive even when it has no predictive power.
Use the display carefully
If the roadmap is useful to understand what has already happened, read its legend and tie treatment. Do not chase a streak, increase a stake because a pattern looks due or confuse descriptive statistics with a guarantee.
